Lead Bib Alternative.

Published by Mommy Zabs at 1:39 pm under Shopping China-Free

This guest post was written by OneMothersLove, a stay-at-home mom of a 3 year old boy and a 8 month old girl She has been married to my firefighter for almost 10 years! I would love to have your readers visit my blog and my Etsy Shop!

After reading some of the information on recent bib recalls over at NotChinaMade.net, I decided to take some of my fabric that I used recently for a diaper and make a bib!

I simply traced a store-bought bib, altered the shape to provide a little more coverage, and added a seam allowance. I can’t stand tiny bibs! The printed fabric is flannel, the back makes good use of an old towel, and I included a Velcro closure on it because I hate to tie things around baby’s neck.

This was so easy to make! I’ve been using some of my other extra fabric & have listed some more bibs in My Etsy Shop to go along with my tag blankets. I am also planning on adding the pattern to My Etsy Shop for those who want to make their own!And the test drive… it works for me!

I am sure you already know this and are aware, but one of the first things that helped me realize the China problem was when I went fabric shopping… alot of the fabric I found was Made in China! I did not notice, because I never even thought to check the bolt end! So I was avoiding china made clothes by buying china mad fabric and doing all the work myself! GAH!! Just in case you hadn’t thought to look! :) Amazingly cute bibs by the way, they are very similar to my favorite bib pattern, but my kids keep growing, and I am running out of babies to make them for… :(
