NotChinaMade.Net For Sale

My blog is worth $40,082.34.
How much is your blog worth?
According to technorati and Dane Carlson, that number is what NotChinaMade.net is worth. I personally think that is funny. I do love my site and think it is valuable for many reasons, but that price? No. That is crazy.
However I am coming to the conclusion that it is time to sell my blog. This is something I never saw coming. I love this site possibly more than any of my others. BUT the time has come to narrow my focus because so many varied things are on my plate. With a new pregancy, a 3 yr. old, 1 yr old, and working at home, there is only so much I can do.
Its like that beloved pet you so badly want to keep but know will have a better home with someone that has time for it. This IS a valuable site and that is why I think it is time to pass the torch to someone that can really make it go and get the word out better than I can right now. With the amount of relevant news on this topic there is right now, my posting frequency does not even come close to measuring up.
So with sadness, yet excitement for what someone else may be able to do with this site. Not China Made (dot) Net is for sale. And no, not for that insanely over priced price. Not even close. If you are interested please inquire via Contact button and let me know what you would be able to pay for the site. If I’m able to reach a reasonable place with you, it will be yours. Don’t be intimidated by that high number, I just wanted to show you that this site does have worth.
I also offer with purchase that I am able to transfer the site to you, load the database in your server and send you all related images I use for branding. I can even offer you great hosting through Motiveight (the service is exceptional) for $9.95 a month. Basically, I could handle your whole transfer and then all you would have to do is establish your new passwords and it’s yours. Voila!
Please contact me through the contact page if you are interested.

Noooo! Well, it’s understandable. I certainly couldn’t do what you have done with this site. Sure do like it, and hope whoever takes it over does right by it. Which brings me to my next point. I’m not so sure yer gonna be able to sell this blog at all. Sorry to say, but you may just have to eat what you have put in it in terms of time, effort, and money. It may be that finding someone willing to take over this blog without buying it might be difficult enough (because of the expenditure of effort required). Long ago I made a pretty major (for me) piece of art [which I am wont to do once in a while (make art, not necessarily major ones), it’s very therapeutic
]. I put a whole lot of my time and effort into that, plus a bunch of dough. I was quite pleased with the results, and enjoyed it for a long time. Years later I decided to sell it but after it had been on the market for some time, I had had exactly nobody who made an offer. See, noone was willing to come near the price I had set as a result of it being so valuable to me because of what I had put into it.
I do hope that I am sillily (Is that even a word?) wrong, though. Kudos to you for making an excellent blog.
oh if only my children didn’t need to eat + that pesky mortgage would quit coming each month i’d buy it!
Ah, but I do understand! With my motherly duties I completely understand. I have a (free) blog of my own–that goes sadly neglected. I came to the same conclusion–no time as real life calls for me. You have done so much with this site– and because I am so busy I regret not coming here more often. I hope the next person will do it justice. Actually I think it should be a team of people, as it is quite difficult for one person to do it all alone. Your insight and knowledge that you have brought in the short time I have visited here has benefited me more than you can ever know! Your blog is quite the feat! I will miss it!
I am so sad to see you let go of this website, but I know it must be so hard to keep up with, especially with THREE littles ones ;)!
I would recommend listing it on http://sitepoint.com I know a lot of WAHMS out there who have sold their websites through that site and have had a lot of success. You could even try listing it on ebay too.
Good luck with the sell!
