This guest post was written by OneMothersLove, a stay-at-home mom of a 3 year old boy and a 8 month old girl She has been married to my firefighter for almost 10 years! I would love to have your readers visit my blog and my Etsy Shop!
After reading some of the information on recent bib recalls over at NotChinaMade.net, I decided to take some of my fabric that I used recently for a diaper and make a bib!
I simply traced a store-bought bib, altered the shape to provide a little more coverage, and added a seam allowance. I can’t stand tiny bibs! The printed fabric is flannel, the back makes good use of an old towel, and I included a Velcro closure on it because I hate to tie things around baby’s neck.

This was so easy to make! I’ve been using some of my other extra fabric & have listed some more bibs in My Etsy Shop to go along with my tag blankets. I am also planning on adding the pattern to My Etsy Shop for those who want to make their own!And the test drive… it works for me!

According to Lori Wallach director of Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch. More recalls are coming. In her interview on Fox News at 1:45 pm on Weekend Live she did not name any specific brands or items, one item she described as a “little girls bracelet with plastic charms that are connected with a little metal ring.” She claimed that these bracelets are “full of lead”. She stated that others will be coming next week as well.
She also mentioned that Congress now has on the table 2 trade agreements, about to pass, that resemble the problem that got us into these problems in the first place. She encouraged people to steer clear of Made In China this upcoming holiday season and Google terms such as “Made In America” and “Non-Toxic”.
We know here at Not China Made (dot) Net that we will do our best to grow our link list to make your holiday shopping easier. Later today we will be featuring yet another amazing store to do your children’s Christmas shopping through. Soon we will be moving these links to their own subpage them and divide them by categories for you to make your shopping easier!

Today Not China Made received its first RANT for the RANT page from Chris! I have had many emails ranting in my inbox in the month since NCM started, but was the first rant sent for the page since I started it this week!
In Chris’s rant, toothbrushes made in the USA were specifically requested. I did a little (it really did not take more than 2 minutes) research and US STUFF linked me to a brand called Preserve by Recycline. Not only is Preserve by Recycline made in the USA, but environmentally friendly as well. All products are recyclable and come from recyclable material. Please take some time to check out their site and see if you can fill gaps your grocery list with any of their items.
The more we support companies like this, the better for both our economy and our cause. Remember Boycotting Made in China for the most part takes effort, but IS NOT impossible. The more we all get involved the more we will find being produced outside of China. It took me 2 minutes to research and find these products. Even the smallest thing like a toothbrush (especially considering we put that in our mouths as Chris pointed out), matters. Always check for an alternative before buying a China Product.
Below you’ll find some images from Preserve product line. Products can be find at select stores including Walmart (don’t choke), Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Target, Etc.

I’m grateful for the constant inflow of emails tipping me to articles, links, and China-free shopping. Today I had 2 come in with recommendations of China-Free brands. I thought both were precious so I decided to feature them with a post.

The first, Bamboletta, came from One Mother’s Love (who will be guest posting very soon!). In my opinion, these handmade dolls are precious. You be the judge, check for yourself.

The second, I received from the entrepreneur dentist that created Your Tooth Fairy Pillow, herself. Dr. Jessica Rickert, DDS created this precious pillow for her grandson. When he reacted with such delight she decided to make a business out of it. Its made in the USA start to finish!
Keep the tips and emails coming, I can’t do it alone! Because of all your contributions Not China Made will continue to grow and become an important resource.

I mean they are, aren’t they? These days it seems our tee shirts and Jeans tradition ships to us from lands far away. Yes, you guessed it, China.
Denim jeans are getting more and more expensive these days. The “trendy” kind at least. I literally remember buying my first pair of “Seven Jeans For All Mankind” at the Promenade in Santa Monica, CA just because I had “finally” found a perfect fit. I was back in California on business a week later and had loved my jeans so much, I ran to the store on my first opportunity to buy more.
GONE? They were GONE? ALL GONE!
