WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Toy Racing Cars

Units: About 2,000

Manufacturer: OKK Trading Inc., of Commerce, Calif.

Hazard: Surface paint on the toy cars contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves toy racing cars that are operated with a remote control. The toy racing car comes with four additional tires and one remote control. “Formula 1” is printed on the packaging.

Manufactured in: China

Sold at: Retail dollar and discount stores nationwide from October 2007 through November 2007 for about $1.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take this car away from children and return it to the store where purchased for a refund.

Cranium Cadoo Board Games Recalled Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

Name of Product: Cranium Cadoo Board Games

Units: About 38,000

Importer: Cranium Inc., of Seattle, Wash.

Hazard: The surface paint on the die contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: Only the die found in Cranium Cadoo board games with lot numbers 2007195 through 2007244 are included in the recall. The Cranium Cadoo game is packaged in a square cardboard box with an orange background. The seven digit lot number is printed under the plastic tray on the bottom half of the box.

Sold at: Fred Meyer, Kmart, Shopko, Wal-Mart and specialty game stores nationwide between October 2007 through January 2008 for about $20.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately dispose of the die and contact Cranium Inc. to receive a free replacement die.

Pottery Barn Recalls Decorative Candles Due to Fire Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Round and Egg-Shaped Decorative Candles

Units: About 185,000

Importer: Pottery Barn of San Francisco, Calif.

Hazard: The candle’s exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: Pottery Barn has received two reports of the gold paint on the candle exterior igniting. No injuries or property damage have been reported.

Description: This recall involves egg-shaped and large and small round candles sold in three sizes. The candles were sold in green, red and white with gold glitter and leaf designs. The recall includes all styles of this candle, including style numbers 9444811, 9444928, 9444936, 9444944, 9444944, 9445214, 9445222, 9445222, and 9445313. The style number for the candles can be found on the price ticket under the candle.

Sold at: Pottery Barn stores nationwide from September 2007 through December 2007 for between $10 and $20.

Manufactured in: Hong Kong

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Pottery Barn store for a full refund.

Hazard: Surface paint on the photo frames contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Description: This recall involves 4-inch by 6-inch hanging picture frames. The wooden frames are white with decorations in different colors, and with a coordinating ribbon attached to the top.

Sold at: Babies R Us stores nationwide from August 2007 through November 2007 for about $10.

Inversion Therapy Tables Recalled by Stamina Products Due to Fall Hazard

Hazard: A weld in the center of the inversion table can fail when the table is in an inverted position, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Stamina Products has received three reports of weld failures. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the following inversion therapy tables:

This exercise equipment allows consumers to fasten to the table in an upright position and safely invert. The model and serial number are located on the black Stamina label found to the left of the rubber stopper on the cross bar.

Sold by: Retailers nationwide and online from October 2005 through October 2007 for between $160 and $300.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled inversion tables immediately and contact Stamina Products to have the table picked up and to receive a free replacement inversion table or a refund.

Hazard: The paint on the Tic Tac Turtle Toss mats contains excess levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Description: This recall involves 50-inch vinyl/polyester play mats. The double sided mats have a number design on one side and a turtle design on the other. The mats are yellow with numbers and designs painted in red, blue, green and black. The mat has the Discount School Supply name and logo printed in the corner on both sides of the mat. Bean bags pictured with the mat are sold separately.

Sold by: Discount School Supply catalogs and the company’s Web site from June 2007 through September 2007 for about $40.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the mat immediately and contact Discount School Supply to receive a credit or refund.
